The server - or more specifically the town of Portwenn (for now) - offers jobs and projects to help build the community and provide players an alternative means of income.

Some jobs are recurring and will pay varying amounts based on supply and demand of labor; see the Portwenn project board-ingame.
Other jobs have fixed rates, such as:

• Explorer - find and mark interesting locations/structures on the map and get paid based on the rarity of the find
